Rosane Volchan O'Conor: Narrativa / A Ten-Year Review
An exhibition of paintings and monoprints by Brazilian artist, Rosane Volchan O'Conor, will be on view at the Beeville Art Museum from September 15-December 31, 2007. Featuring works from 1997 through the present, Narrativa / A Ten-Year Review will be highlighted by special, on-site installations created specifically for the museum. Ranging from large-format mixed media works on canvas to delicate monoprints, the exhibition showcases a sampling of O'Conor's work from the last ten years of her career. "To me, the evolution of the work is always the most intriguing - how it changes and transforms. Being able to trace the journey visually through this exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to develop what's next," stated Rosane Volchan O'Conor.
Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1959, O'Conor now lives and works in Houston, Texas, where she has participated in group shows at Lawndale Art Center, University of Houston, the Assistance League of Houston, and Glassell School of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Throughout the years, her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Cullen Center Gallery, Houston, Bering & James Gallery, Houston, Gallery 219, Dallas, and Axel Rabin Gallery, New York.
Rosane Volchan O'Conor's work is part of many corporate collections including The Woodlands Operating Company, The Woodlands, Texas; Susan Godfrey Attorneys, Houston, Texas, One McKnight Place, St. Louis, Missouri, and Casino Assembleia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
